As artificial intelligence rapidly develops and digital services seamlessly penetrate daily life, global internet governance is facing a new wave of transformation. Co-hosted with active participation from the public sector, international organizations, and technical communities, Internet Week 2026 will take place from May 12 to 15, 2026, at the NTUH International Convention Center. Dr. Lee-Feng Chien, Innovation Economy Advisor to the Executive Yuan's Economic Development Council, is invited to explore new opportunities in Taiwan's AI-driven digital economy from an industrial development perspective, focusing on how trust governance becomes a key driver for the next stage of competitiveness. As generative AI accelerates its deployment, balancing innovative applications with societal trust has become a vital issue for both government and enterprises.

Regarding the international lineup, Dr. Steve Crocker, President and CEO of Edgemoor Research Institute, will deliver a keynote titled "Enhancing Trust in a Fragmented Internet." Drawing from the evolutionary history of the internet, he will analyze the challenges the world currently faces across data security, privacy protection, identity authentication, and platform accountability. He points out that despite differing national systems and values, internet users share common interests, and technology serves as a vital foundation for building trust.

Another key international presentation will be delivered by Jeremy Godfrey, Executive Chairperson of Ireland's Media Commission (Coimisiún na Meán), titled "Harmonizing Digital Markets and Public Interest: Rights, Risks, and Next-Generation Regulation." Drawing on over 30 years of practical experience in ICT, telecommunications, media, and online safety, Godfrey will share insights on building a more forward-looking regulatory framework that balances digital platform governance, user rights protection, and the public interest.

Digital Trust and Risk Governance in the AI Era: As AI applications enter finance, e-commerce, and public services, the forum will conduct deep dives into building transparent and accountable content governance mechanisms while mitigating misinformation and trust risks.

Digital Resilience and International Regulatory Trends: Responding to rapidly shifting global regulatory landscapes, sessions will focus on the EU's NIS2 Directive (Network and Information Security Directive 2.0) and its future developments, emphasizing how to strengthen digital environment resilience and enhance operational capacity and governance.

Network Resilience and Modernized Protocol Trends: At the infrastructure level, discussions will cover ISP deployment, IP resource governance, and the impact of protocol upgrades on performance, security, and network stability, helping industry stakeholders navigate the direction of next-generation network environments.

Tech Women Dedicated Forum on Diversity and Inclusion: Placing diversity and inclusion at the heart of governance, the event features a special Taiwan Tech Women session themed "Driving Full, Equal, and Meaningful Participation Starting from Industry." Moderated by Jyh-Dong Lin, Director and CEO of TWNIC, the panel gathers prominent figures including National Communications Commission (NCC) Commissioner Yi-Huei Wang, Google Taiwan General Manager Tina Lin, former Yahoo Asia-Pacific Managing Director Rose Tsou, and Taiwan Digital Diplomacy Association Chairperson Chiayo Kuo.
