When Seeing Is No Longer Believing: How Cybersecurity Mindsets Can Mitigate the Potential Crisis of Eroding Online Trust

When AI deepfake technology can spoof voices and video in real time, seeing is no longer believing—and the "digital trust capital" we take for granted is facing a breakdown crisis! From scammers forging "7-11 MyShip" links and fake lottery win notifications, to enterprises encountering automated vulnerability attacks in the "post-Methos era," cyberattack timelines have been compressed down to mere hours.

In this episode of Taiwan School on Internet Governance, we invite ART Lin, Dept. of Cyber Security Deputy Director at TWNIC, and Karl Hsieh, Chief Technology Officer of Cisco Taiwan, to deeply analyze the industrialization of fraud in the AI era. They discuss how the public can use the free Phishing Check service to report phishing websites, as well as the relevant DNS protection mechanisms driven by TWNIC in collaboration with Taiwanese ISPs. Meanwhile, taking "Zero Trust" and identity governance as starting points, the conversation explores how to embed cybersecurity into network infrastructure, bridge internal collaboration bottlenecks, and bolster enterprise defenses against AI-driven threats.

Host: Ethan Liu

Speakers:

Aat Lin, Dept. of Cyber Security Deputy Director, TWNIC
